Jesse Owens - autograph - 1936 Olympics - Postmarked - Black Americana


James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time gold medalist in the 1936 Olympics game. 

Historian and autograph collector, Roy Votaw,  sent several original 1936 postcards with official Olympic Cancellations to Jesse Owens to autograph in 1970.  After Owen's death a US postage stamp was issued honoring Owens and Mr. Votaw affixed the stamp to the card and had it postmarked first day of issue.
